CRTB-2 (Critical Reasoning Test Battery) is a battery of ability tests for lower and middle management, high qualified specialists and administrative staff. CRTB-2 has been developed by Psytech Int. in 2001. In 2006, it was translated into Russian and adapted by OnTarget.
CRTB-2 (Critical Reasoning Test Battery) consists of 2 tests: NCR2 and VCR2.
NCR2. This test directly measures the ability to understand and critically evaluate a wide range of numerical information presented in tabular form, and accurately use this information in a logical way. Consequently, it forms a key assessment device for all managerial and technical positions which require a detailed understanding of financial, numerical and statistical data. The test consists of 25 items. Test duration is 25 minutes.
VCR2. This test directly assesses the ability to understand semi-technical reports and accurately draw logical conclusions and inferences from such written information. Consequently, it forms a key assessment device for all managerial and professional jobs which require quick and reliable interpretation of written reports and appropriate decision making. The test consists of 40 items. Test duration is 25 minutes.
CRTB-2 is available in paper&pencil version and on-line in Genesys system.
CRTB-2 psychometrical properties. As well as other Psytech tools, the CRTB-2 has high validity and reliability. At the same time, these figures could have changed when test has been translated and adapted for Russia. That's why we investigated the psychometrical properties of the Russian CRTB-2 version. Below the results of this research are shown.
Internal correlation between NCR2 and VCR2 is 0.58 (Pearson Product moment correlation), showing that tests are measuring associated yet not identical abilities.
Reliability. Cronbach's Alpha was used to compute CRTB2 internal consitency (ability of the items in a scale to measure the same construct)

The table shows that Alpha coefficients for both VCR2 and NCR2 exceed 0.7 which is acceptable for this sort of psychometric tools.
Validity. Kendall's Tau was used to compute correlation of test results with attestation marks.

Both correlation coefficients are statistically significant, thus conforming reliable interrelation between CRTB-2 results and level of job performance.
